He Glorified His Ark

Feast Of The Assumption 2024
This is the greatest of the feast days in honor of the Blessed Mother.  This dogma, which has been passed down to us from the Apostles, is so critical that we cannot be saved without belief in it.  All the aspects of the Assumption call to mind the prerogatives of the Mother of God.  She is above all women, untouched by sin and death.  This Mass begins with the words of St. John, recalling his vision of the woman of the Apocalypse, and continues with the story of Judith, a type of the Blessed Mother.  We are her seed, and we follow the great Queen of Heaven in the battle with the seed of the devil.  Her body was the tabernacle of the Son of God and was so sanctified that it deserved its glorification.

God’s Promises Accomplished

Conference on 1st Friday July 2024
In St. Paul’s instruction to the young bishop, St. Timothy, he emphasized the importance of spiritual reading.  If this instruction is given to a bishop, it applies all the more so to the laity.  Prayer and spiritual reading are necessary for the growth of sanctity.

St. Anthony Mary Zaccaria became a physician in his early life but soon discovered that his calling was not to heal men’s bodies but their souls.  He dedicated his life to the assistance of the dying and the welfare of children, and his great love of the Holy Eucharist led to his institution of the 40 Hours Devotion.

In gratitude for the victory over the forces of Free Masonry, Pope Pius IX elevated the feast of the Visitation.  There were two annunciations in preparation for the coming of the Redeemer – the annunciation of the birth of St. John the Baptist and that of Our Lord.  St. John the Baptist was the herald of Our Lord not only in his words, but in his life.  In the Visitation we see the great love of the Blessed Mother, who cares for even our smallest needs.

Our Hope in His Blood

Feast of the Precious Blood 2024
The devotion to the Most Precious Blood encompasses every aspect of our Faith, because it is through the merits of Christ’s Blood that all good things come to us.  The sacrifice of the Son of God surpasses all the sacrifices of mankind in every conceivable way.  Just as the Blood of Our Lord flowed from the wound in His side, the devotion to the Precious Blood flows from the devotion to the Sacred Heart.  In honoring the Sacred Heart, we honor Our Lord’s great love and mercy, while devotion to the Precious Blood pays homage to the fruit of that love in the Redemption.  Even our ability to give adequate thanksgiving to our Redeemer comes through the Eucharistic Body and Blood of the altar.  It is only in the infinite merits of the Precious Blood that we have hope for the future.

Separated From Our Father

4th Sunday after Pentecost 2024
St. Jerome explains the meaning of Our Lord’s quote, “Call no man Father,” telling the faithful that it refers to giving man the honor due to God alone.  The theme for this Sunday is hope.  We have much to endure in this battle we wage against the devil.  After Adam fell the world was thrown into chaos and we struggle interiorly with concupiscence and the pride of life.  We remain hopeful because Our Lord told us that if we ask the Father anything in His name, it shall be given to us.  True Catholics believe what we are instructed to believe and obediently conform our intellect to the teaching of the Church.

Nothing Without God

3rd Sunday after Pentecost 2024
Green vestments are worn during this season to express the virtue of Hope.  We are instructed to hope in nothing but God Who tells us, “Without Me you can do nothing.”  We must know the truth about ourselves, always remembering what we used to be and remaining prepared for the time of our visitation.  Evil people are rewarded in this life for those good things they do because they cannot receive any recompense in Hell.  God’s friends are persecuted and suffer in this life, but will be rewarded for all eternity in the next.  We must pray without ceasing that we will be saved.

The Compendium of All Religion

Feast of The Sacred Heart 2024
This feast was created relatively recently in the history of the Church, yet it was foreshadowed even in the Old Testament.  As God took the rib from Adam’s side while he slept to form his great love, Eve, so while Christ slept in death on the Cross the Church was brought forth from the wound in His side.  In this Epistle St. Paul speaks in utter amazement about the love of the Sacred Heart.  The essence of religion is found in the love of God the Son for God the Father, and all our prayers find their value when they are united with this love.  Even if we possess all the faith in the world, we will still not be saved if we do not have love.  Anyone who has loved has known the pain of love.  Can we even imagine the pain of Christ’s Heart when He saw how little He would be loved in return?

Where Are The Martyrs?

Pentecost Sunday 2024
Pentecost is called the birthday of the Catholic Church because, although it was conceived on the Cross, this is the first day the Church manifested herself in the world.  Not only every human being, but all nations and governments are called to convert to Christ.  True Catholics reject the false tenets of religious indifferentism.  The Holy Ghost expresses God’s love for us because He is the Person of Love.  In these days when there is such great cowardice within the Church, we pray for the virtue of fortitude to help us persevere in the face of adversity.  The Holy Ghost will provide us with the strength of the saints and martyrs.

The Paschal Mystery Completed

Ascension Thursday Morning 2024
After Christ sacrificed Himself for our sins and conquered death through His Resurrection, His physical, glorified Body entered Heaven so that we may all follow Him there.  The Paschal Candle is extinguished after the Gospel to represent Our Lord’s departure from the Earth.  This is the day of great joy because today the Son of God went home.  We will all receive our bodies at the end of time.  To deny this dogma is the heretical rejection of the teaching of Our Lord.  Even the apostles were rebuked by Christ for their lack of faith.  This is a warning to all of us who are so weak in faith.  We must not be discouraged; we have become new people and have been prepared for a greater calling.

Avoiding Occasions of Sin

Low Sunday 2024
Today is called Low Sunday because it is small in comparison to the great feast of Easter.  St. Thomas’ doubt has made it easier for us to believe, because the proofs of the Resurrection that Christ offered help strengthen our faith.  Now that we have put to death the old man, we must shut the doors of our soul to the world.  After we have been given new life, like Lazarus we are bound hand and foot if we remain attached to the world.  Even the great can fall if they do not avoid occasions of sin and resist the devil “steadfast in the faith.”

Our Joyous Victory

Easter Sunday Morning 2024
To prove His divinity, Our Lord truly rose from the dead – physically, materially, corporeally.  The signs of His divinity are so abundant that it would be foolish to deny its truth, but we must still be given the gift of Faith to affirm it.  Christ rose by His own power just as much as He was raised from the dead by His Father.  The risen Savior filled the terrified Apostles with peace.  Christ tells us that although we are sorrowful now, one day we will be filled with joy and vindicated in the eyes of the world.  Our Faith is the victory which overcomes the world.
