Your Path to Heaven

Feast Of The Holy Family 2023
In these days, when the perpetual virginity of the Blessed Mother is so often attacked by the world, we must defend the doctrine that she was virgin before, during, and after the birth of Christ.  Because the pain suffered in childbirth is a consequence of original sin, the Mother of God, who was free from sin and its consequences, did not suffer any such pains.  Christ is the model of obedience, that supernatural virtue which inclines us to submit to lawful authority.  If the Son of God was willing to submit to men, who are we to resist the virtue of obedience?

The First Day of Our Redemption

Octave Of Christmas 2023
Based on the infallible consensus of the Church Fathers, and the unaltered testimony of Tradition, Catholics believe in the perpetual virginity of the Blessed Virgin.  Just as Christ passed through the stone of His tomb after His resurrection, He passed through the womb of His Mother on the day of the Nativity, leaving it unopened.  On this octave day after His birth, Our Lord shed His first drops of blood for our redemption.  Every suffering of God in His human nature had infinite merit, and His humility in those moments is beyond all understanding.  Let us promise once and for all to be good this year.

God’s Gift to Man

Christmas Midnight Mass 2022
This is the Feast of light, the Feast of Hope, the Feast of Victory, but this feast is also a Gift to us.  A gift is valuable because it contains the giver, just as offering a meal to a friend is a way of sharing oneself.  This is most perfectly exemplified in the fact that God truly gave us Himself.  While our enemies want us to forget this great gift of the Incarnation, we must resist and fight, for ourselves and for our children.  We must stand united, and we must love God better.

The Judgment of God

4th Sunday Of Advent 2022
The theme of the Epistle for this Mass is judgment.  Not only the judgments that men make towards each other, but especially the Last Judgment at the end of time.  We are forbidden to judge rashly, but we are not forbidden from making any judgments at all.  We have all experienced the harm of rash judgment, but it should make us strive all the more towards keeping our conscience clear, as St. Paul instructs.  If we are followers of Jesus Christ, we have nothing to fear.  We must use the extra week of Advent that has been given to us by beginning to live with true Catholic hearts.

Be Not Anxious

3rd Sunday Of Advent 2022
Gaudete Sunday
The color of the rose denotes a mixture of sadness and joy, while the flower itself represents Christ.  Those who abandon themselves completely enjoy the true peace and freedom from anxiety spoken of at this Mass.  Christ always hears the prayers of those who trust with all their heart.  Christmas is the beginning, not the end.  When Our Lord was born, the world immediately attempted to end His life.  We do not see the victory and joy yet, but we have a foretaste with the graces of Christmas.  It will be at the moment when all seems lost that Christ will triumph completely.  We remain free, our hearts cannot be dominated.

Be Lifted Up!

2nd Sunday Of Advent 2022
In this season we know we are supposed to accomplish what took 4,000 years to accomplish as the world prepared for Christ’s coming.  We must ask God for help for He can give us all we need in an instant.  We come in contact with God when we come in contact with Jesus Christ in the liturgy.  This is the season for doing something, because simply avoiding sin is not enough.  Let us renew our consecration to the Sacred Heart and learn to love and serve Him better.

Let Us Get Started

1st Sunday Of Advent 2022
We should begin the new year with the greatest help at our disposal – Holy Communion.  The benefits given to Catholics through the Holy Eucharist are innumerable.  The Holy Ghost has awakened us and is calling us to draw closer to God.  We must pray to be delivered from temptations and we must be far more vigilant in attending Sunday Mass.  If we are not holier now than we were at this time last year, we have a chance to start our conversion now and follow the example of the saints.

Undying Confidence

Last Sunday After Pentecost 2022
Even at the end of the liturgical year we are still filled with great hope.  The virtue of hope, not based on natural motives, but based on our confidence in God, gives us the help we need to overcome the obstacles which stand in the way of our eternal goal.  If we desire to persevere in the practice of this virtue, we must practice mortification, and custody of the senses.  Only then are we able to respond to God’s grace, overcome our vices, and truly be numbered among the elect.

The Story Of Faith

23rd Sunday After Pentecost 2022
Even though we are given great graces we still fall into sin, and many of these sins are committed out of weakness rather than malice.  We must never forget the great power of the sacramental of holy water, the use of which can take away our venial sins.  We have been given ample stories of the power of God and the aid He gives to the faithful.  Just as the enemies of Our Lord mocked Him, our enemies today do the same.  Throughout our life, it must be God alone who matters.

Render Your Life To God

22nd Sunday After Pentecost 2022
In this Epistle we see how, through the perfection of charity, St. Paul suffers cheerfully and remembers his people even in pain. “How beautiful to see brethren dwelling in unity.” We are called to be one with our neighbor, forgiving his offenses just as we wish to be forgiven. St. Augustine tells us that we have the character of Christ on our souls just like the denarius of the Gospel. We belong to God entirely and must be on guard against the godless media and entertainment of our day, which seeks to corrupt our youth.
