Christ The King Conference

First Friday, November 2021
Two final notes concerning the Holy Souls are how they pass time in Purgatory and how we relate to them. We are raised with the secular teaching that the Church and State should be separated.  Christ spoke to the people of His time as integral individuals and did not dichotomize them by their public and private lives.  The Our Father petitions for the coming of His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.  Christ did not limit Himself to individuals but commanded preaching to entire nations.  All this is based on the hypostatic union which constitutes Our Lord as priest and king.  St. Pius X said that the problems of the world are permitted by the laxity and lukewarmness of passive Catholics.

New Law Of Love

Pentecost Sunday 2020
This feast is on par with Easter and is deserving of the greatest eloquence in speaking about it.  The descent of the Holy Ghost on this day was prepared for 1500 years earlier when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the decalogue, fifty days after the Passover when the chosen people escaped from Egypt.  The Person of Love was sent by the Father and the Son to inaugurate the New Law by entering the Cenacle and giving His graces to those present.  The Blessed Mother was a perfect receptacle for her Spouse and through Him Our Lady is the model for us of love and of heaven dwelling within us.  Never blaspheme against the Holy Ghost and instead learn to turn within and commune with the Triune God who lives in the souls of those in the state of grace.

Keep Them From Evil

Sunday After The Ascension 2020
Today is also Memorial day and not a time to discuss just war theory but to honor and to pray for the soldiers who died for us.  This month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and we should be doing something everyday in Her honor.  Thanksgiving to God because of Her intercession for our return to the Mass and Sacraments is a recommended prayer now.  Today is a renewal of the Ascension and a continuation of our preparation with the Apostles for the coming of Pentecost.  This trial for them was the illuminative way in which we are meant to share.  The Mass texts are beautiful and the Postcommunion reminds us of Our Lord’s priestly prayer for unity.  We should pray and be faithful.

Heaven Is Our Real Home

Ascension Thursday 2020
Today Our Lord gloriously entered heaven and made it a home for all humanity through His Sacred Human Nature seated at the right hand of God the Father.  To emphasize this, all the saved who had been detained in the Limbo of the Patriarchs from Adam to St. John the Baptist entered heaven in triumph with Christ.  With His departure the apostles began their novena in preparation for the coming of the Holy Ghost and entered into their own spiritual purification by detaching themselves from all that hindered their progress in the spiritual life.  We must join them during these days of prayer & penance before Pentecost.  Our attention should always be focused on our goal which is our heavenly home.  With society collapsing around us we have heaven as our one remaining hope.

The First Novena

Pentecost Sunday 2018
Before the Epistle and Gospel for the feast of Pentecost we hear about St. Gregory VII and St. Philip Neri.  After nine days of prayer from the Ascension the birthday of the Church took place with the coming of the Holy Ghost.  The Person of Love completed the preparation of the apostles for their mission to convert the world to the one Faith and worship through the many charisms including the preaching which enabled all to understand their speech.  O Holy Spirit, Soul of my soul, strengthen me, console me. Amen.

Your Treasure Is In Your Heart

Fourth Sunday after Easter 2018
In the Epistle for this Sunday St. James describes God as the immutable Father of Lights who wills the salvation of all men.  Any who are lost are victims of their own malice in refusing the graces offered by God.  Our response must be one of love which will guide us along the way to holiness and love of God and neighbor.

Today You Know Christ Is Coming

Vigil Of Christmas 2017

At the vigil Mass the joy of Christmas is already felt and this happy way that we receive the Infant King reassures us that His second coming will not be a harsh one for us.  On this last day of Advent St. Joseph is brought before us as the worthy descendant of David who will protect the Blessed Mother from scandal, hardship and from the devil.  Our receiving this “Bread from Heaven” will ease our burdens in this life.

Co-Heirs Of Heaven

Feast Of The Transfiguration 2017

The Transfiguration of Our Lord came six days after St. Peter’s confession of Faith in the Son of God.  Then Christ took the three leading apostles up a mountain where He permitted them to glimpse His divinity while He spoke to Moses and Elias.  This was to encourage the apostles for the trials ahead.  We too are meant to be strengthened by this feast and to realize that everything leads us to our true inheritance in heaven.

Don’t Be A Summer Soldier

Trinity Sunday 2017

The teaching about the Blessed Trinity and Its Indwelling in the faithful is the hallmark of the Catholic Faith and necessary for salvation.  The realization of this Truth should inspire us to be true soldiers of Christ as confirmed Christians and exercise it by participating in the feast of Corpus Christi, for example.  The lukewarm imperil their own salvation by not becoming fervent.

Ascension Evening in the Cenacle

Ascension Thursday Evening 2017

The truth of the Ascension was revealed by the angels and the liturgy celebrates the feast forty days after Easter just as it is described in the Bible.  After the events of this day the young Church gathered around the Blessed Mother in the upper room  and continued steadfast in prayer for the coming of the Holy Ghost.
