We Are Children Of The Promise

Laetare Sunday 2017

We have reached the middle of Lent and we rejoice at this point and continue to persevere. We receive graces as the chosen ones and we must not postpone our conversion. As the people in today’s Gospel, we will follow Our Lord for the beautiful teachings He gives us and for the miracle of the loaves and fishes.

The Most Important Day Of Your Life

3rd Sunday after Pentecost 2016

First Communion Sunday

The parables of the lost sheep and the lost drachma in today’s gospel are meant to remind us of the great efforts Our Lord will take to bring lost souls back to His heavenly home.  Just as human actors in today’s gospel placed a very high value on their lost items, the value which Our Lord places on our souls is infinitely greater.  As Our Lord said, “There will be greater happiness in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over those many who have no need of repentance.”  We should always remember the Mercy Our Lord offers us if only we repent of our wrongdoings.  Today was also First Communion Sunday and we would be remiss if we did not offer congratulations to the First Communicants and their parents as well as continuing prayers for their success in the Faith.

Our Daily Bread

The Feast Of Corpus Christi 2016

This important sermon by Fr. Superior includes many beautiful and valuable thoughts and it really should be listened to by all who value their Faith.  It begins by exploding the myths regarding the Eucharist that are held by some including, most regrettably, Catholics.  The Eucharist is not merely a symbol or memorial but a reenactment, a reliving on the Altar of Christ’s sacrifice and death on the cross.  It is the foundation of all that has been done in Christendom – all the beauty, all the edifices, churches, schools and especially the work of the clergy and hierarchy to sustain and grow the true Faith throughout the world.  It is why the Servants of the Holy Family take such care of the Altar and vestments used in the Mass.  We are also admonished that we too must preserve and defend this great gift that is given to us – most especially in these times when the Feast of Corpus Christi is so often ignored, despite the clear words of Christ to Blessed Juliana that it be established and honored throughout His Holy Church.

My Little White Guest

Holy Thursday 2016

This sermon is all about Agape which is that selfless, sacrificial, unconditional Love, which Jesus has first for His Father and then for us.  It is the Love that He demonstrated on Holy Thursday when He told his disciples, “I will not leave you orphans” and gave them and us through them, the Eucharist and Holy Priesthood to be with us until He comes again in Glory.  It is also the Love which inspired Him to wash the feet of His disciples and to give them the command, “If, then, I, being your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”  This is called the Mandatum and it is our charge as well – that selfless Love we must share with one another.  It is, in the final analysis, why He took upon Himself all of our sins, suffered, and died on the cross to win for us eternal salvation with His Father in Heaven.  The only question for us is: How will we return that Love?

Keep A Good Conscience

Sermon From
7th Sunday After Pentecost 2015
Compline, the final prayer of the Divine Office each day, reminds us that our struggle is against the devil who is the primary source of our temptations.  We can overcome him by a pure intention supported by the sacraments, prayer and moral practices.  We should avoid the occasions of sin like people, places and things which put obstacles in our road to heaven.  For the young especially they must not imitate the ways of the world and its celebrities.  Bad friends are the worst influence.  Today we are also celebrating the reception of First Holy Communion.  You have prepared well and now to Baptism and Penance you are adding the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.  Our Lord has miraculously saved many through the Sacred Host and will do so for you.

The Sole Means of Salvation

Sermon On
Holy Thursday 2014
This day we celebrate the institution of the Mass, the Holy Eucharist, and the Priesthood – the only vocation created directly by God.  The saints tell us that it would be easier for us to exist without the Sun than without the Mass.  Our presence at the Mass shows God’s love for us, because He gives us the grace to come, and it allows us to show our love, fidelity, and loyalty to Him.  God has promised a great reward to those who stand with Him, and we know that it is only through the Mass that we will receive that reward.  Let us make reparation and proclaim our loyalty through the Sacrifice of the Altar.

My Happiest Day

Sermon From
2nd Sunday After Pentecost 2013
Today our children receive their First Holy Communion. Our Lord left us this sacrament so we would not be orphans when He ascended into heaven. The Holy Eucharist and the special graces given by Christ will help us to reach heaven. The state of grace in us means that the Holy Trinity lives inside us. With such strength we are able to resist the enemies of God. Ask Our Lord to make us good and bring us all to live with Him forever. This is the happiest day of our lives and we should receive Holy Communion often, even daily.

Draw All Things To Myself

Sermon From
The Feast Of Corpus Christi 2013
St. Bonaventure warned that removal of the Blessed Sacrament from the Church would leave the people like a herd of animals. St. Paul in the Epistle gives a monitum about irreverence to the Holy Eucharist in his day. What about our times? This feast has a special history because of its origin around a miracle. St. Thomas Aquinas composed the texts for this Mass and today’s Divine Office. The teaching about this sacred gift from God is clear and separates our true Church from all other false religions. Christ died to give us Himself in this way and it is sacrilegious, ungrateful and irreverent to treat the Sacrament of His Body and Blood in anything less than a loving and devout manner.
