Hearts May Be Revealed

Sunday After Christmas 2021
St. Paul in the Epistle explains one of the effects of God with us, namely that we in turn become sons of God and can cry out Abba, Father.  We renew our belief in the Incarnation where the Second Person of the Trinity, while retaining His divine nature assumed a human nature.  The Gospel account is taken from the Presentation in the temple where Simeon prophesied that the Christ Child would be a sign of contradiction and that His Mother’s soul would be pierced so that many hearts would be revealed.  The saints after Christmas are examples for us of the generous response to the Holy Babe of Bethlehem.

Penance And Priesthood

4th Sunday of Advent Advent 2021
The guides for Advent are prominent in this last Sunday of the season leading up to Christmas.  The Mass texts come from Isaias the Prophet, St. John the Baptist fulfills the prophecies in the Gospel and the Blessed Mother is honored in the Offertory and Communion.  The Mass itself is connected to the December ordinations and St. Paul writes about the worthy stewards of the mysteries of the Faith.  St. John calls the people to penance in preparation for Christ’s coming.

Priest After The Heart of Christ

Ember Friday In Advent 2021 & Profession Day
Congratulations for bravery, fearlessness and confidence in God as you pledge yourself to our religious community in the pursuit of sanctity and infused prayer. This is your next step on the road to the priesthood.  Follow St. Paul’s advice to forget what is past and strain forward for the future prize.  The devil hates priests and those preparing for ordination; however, not for you to worry because you are invincible and invulnerable thanks to God’s help. What is the characteristic of a good priest?  Such a priest imitates the Sacred Heart and communicates His love to all.  The priest should not live and preach as a sterile professor but with a fiery heart like Our Lord’s.

Quasi-Divine

Immaculate Conception Evening 2021

The reading of the introduction of this encyclical for the proclamation of the dogma that Our Lady was preserved free from original  sin is doctrinal and devotional.  Listening to the words of the proclamation is awe inspiring.  The Blessed Mother had to be created as a worthy mother for a worthy Son.  For this reason, authors say that God could have a created a better world but not a better Mother for His Son.  This privilege elevates the Blessed Mother to a status far superior to all the saints and angels combined.

Preserved Immaculate

Feast Of The Immaculate Conception 2021
Pope Pius IX proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception in 1854 after years of preparation and prayer.  In the encyclical that contains the definition the pope begins to prove the truth of the doctrine by showing that the liturgy of the Church from its earliest days honored Our Lady under this title and privilege.  So in turning to Mass texts of this feast we see the beauty of our Blessed Mother explained.  We pray to fulfill her prophecy in the Magnificat that we are part of the present generation that calls her blessed.

Signs Of His Second Coming

First Sunday Of Advent 2021
Today begins a new liturgical year and prepares for Christmas and Christ’s return at the end of time.  We have been given signs which will alert us to the second coming and these are explained so that we who remain faithful to Our Lord will lift up our heads and rejoice when we see Him with His angels coming to judge the world and take His own with Him into heaven.  Isaiah, St. John the Baptist and the Blessed Mother are the persons who will guide us throughout Lent.  This Q&A ends with answers about the current situation, exorcists, conclaves and the remembrances of the living at the dead at Mass.

Stand With Christ And Pray

22nd Sunday After Pentecost 2021
Still in the month of the Holy Rosary, we are reminded of the 15 Promises Our Lady made concerning those who recite it.  The Mass texts today emphasize prayer which is essential as we approach the day of the Lord, whether in the particular or general judgments.  Equipped in this way we join in St. Paul’s joy while in chains.  The Gospel shows Our Lord exposing the malice of His enemies who attempt to set a trap for Him about paying taxes to Caesar.  Christ our King adds that we must render to God what is God’s.  We must all practice fortitude by praying.

Signs Of Demonic Temptation

21st Sunday After Pentecost 2021
Tomorrow is the feast of St. Luke the Evangelist and today is the feast of St. Margaret Mary the Apostle of the Sacred Heart.  The Epistle for this Mass was written by St. Paul during his imprisonment and the armor of his jailers was a reminder to him of the defensive and offensive weapons that we have in our spiritual combat, not with natural forces but, with preternatural forces on high.  Lucifer is the leader of these proud fallen demons who are the cause of most of our temptations.  Sudden, disturbing, prideful, lying and divisive characteristics mark these attacks from the devil.  The Gospel warns us to be merciful because we have received mercy.  The Divine Maternity has an important attribute that honors Our Lady’s virginity before, during and after Christ’s birth.  The Holy Rosary is our great means of sanctification.

God Is The Solution

20th Sunday After Pentecost 2021
It is important not to waste time especially with today’s technology which causes many distractions.  It is more common now for people to be depressed, sad and lonely more than at other times in the past.  This is because they are not looking to God and the Blessed Mother.  Especially during this month, we should turn to the Holy Rosary which has many consoling promises attached to its recitation.  We should frequent the sacraments like Penance after making an examination of conscience and we should attend Mass with reverence and attention.

Saint Pius X, Our Pope

1st Friday Conference, October 2021
This conference begins with a sobering account of the current problems with the validity of the sacraments because of the devil’s hatred of priests and the means of salvation.  The story of today’s Saint Remy is encouraging in the face of this new paganism because this holy bishop baptized Clovis which began the life of the eldest daughter of the Church – France.  This month is dedicated to the Holy Rosary and quotations about it from the saints encourage us to pray it devoutly.  Finally, we recall our holy pope, St. Pius X, who enriched the Church and souls during his papacy.  His love for God and neighbor was evident in his efforts to preserve the Faith pure and undefiled, to honor Our Lady as Co-Redemptrix, to emphasize the Liturgy, increase devotion to the Holy Eucharist, increase study of the Bible, restore Gregorian chant, revise the Code of Canon Law, reform the Breviary and much more.  His sanctity was attested by conversions and miracles during his lifetime and during this canonization process.  He is our strong protector and supporter today against the evil of modernism.
