The Antichrist World

The Holy Name Of Jesus 2026
This entire month of January is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus, and it is a beautiful practice to recite the Litany of the Holy Name after the Rosary during this Month.  Although the Rosary is simple, it is meant to lead us to contemplative prayer.

While we live in an antichrist world filled with consumerism and paganism, we should kiss the crucifix and call on the Holy Name of our Savior.  Unlike the Chosen People of old, we are given the privilege to call on the Holy Name of God whenever we wish.  St. Thomas Moore teaches us the importance of following a true conscience in the face of persecution.  He prayed that his persecutors would join him in Heaven one day, and echoed the words of Christ: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

No Longer Servants But Friends

Feast of Saints Peter & Paul 2025

Priestly Ordinations

During the ordination ceremony, it is as if Heaven is opening as our Divine Savior unites with the ordinands and fuses them to His priestly Nature.  From that moment, the new priests are able to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, to renew all the divine mysteries of the Faith through the liturgy, to forgive sin, to govern, to teach, to baptize, to bring souls to Heaven.  The priest is called Father because he provides life to the people and spiritually nourishes them.  The Laity should look at the priest and see the likeness of Christ.  By the physical transformation of the soul through Holy Orders, for all eternity, the priest is now a relative – a brother – of Our Lord.

In Honor of the Impossible

Feast of The Annunciation 2025
One could argue that this is the greatest of all the feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Sin never touched Our Lady, yet no one ever suspected how holy she truly was due to her great humility.  The Angel Gabriel offered God’s invitation, not His command, to the Virgin Mary to become the Divine Mother.  How can we have hope in these darkest days?  Our confidence is sustained knowing that nothing is impossible with God.  This is the day on which Our Lord became a priest, because from the moment of His Incarnation He possessed the office of Mediator between God and man.  The Author of Grace comes to humanity through the Blessed Mother and, as the Mediatrix of All Graces, all the graces bestowed on us come through her too.  We were created to manifest the glory of God by freely choosing to love honor and serve Him, with the help of His Most Holy Mother.

The Protector of His People

Feast of St. Joseph 2025
We have absolute confidence in our Father, St. Joseph, and we know that he will protect his people just as he protected the Holy Family.  The devotion to St. Joseph has been practiced from the early days of the Church, and later St. Pius V established the feast day more permanently.  He helped facilitate the Incarnation, and because of this he is tied closely to the Hypostatic Union.  We see in him an example of the semi-contemplative life of prayer and work.  His heart always remained in Heaven, even in the busyness of his profession.  St. Joseph is the greatest of all the saints, after the Virgin Mary.  He is the Protector of the Holy Church and patron of the dying.  The saints tell us that there is nothing that he cannot obtain for us if we ask.

Saved By Love

5th Sunday after Epiphany 2025
This week in the liturgical year is filled with important days.  The lives of St. Blaise and St. Apollonia, as well as the details of the apparitions of Our Lady at Lourdes, should be well known to every Catholic.

During these days, we consider the flight of the Holy Family into Egypt.  They covered a distance of roughly 300 miles through the desert, and all the pains they suffered during this trip were offered up for us.

God wills the salvation of all men, but not all are saved.  With the graces He offers at every moment, our God tries to save us despite the sins we continually commit.  God gives us his love always.  We must not only know God, but we must love Him, because it is only through love that we are saved.  If we truly love God, He should occupy our thoughts more than anything else and we should be on fire with love when we receive Him in Holy Communion.

The Holy Family Provides

Feast of the Holy Family 2025
The Blessed Mother kept the mysteries of Our Lord’s life in her heart, and we should invoke her help whenever we meditate on those mysteries.  Holy Scripture shows St. Joseph to be the clear head of the Holy Family, not by his words but by his actions.  The event recorded in the Gospel took place when Christ was twelve years old, at the time when He became a “Son of the Law.”  By His words Christ makes it evident to the whole world that He knew He was God at every moment of His life.  St. Paul tells us in his Epistle the virtues of the Holy Family which we must imitate and use in examining our consciences.  The father is the head of the family and must be the example of the virtue of religion.  The mother is the heart of the family, who keeps all the spiritual and material needs of the children in her heart.  God has given us parents to assist us in attaining Heaven, and children are called to submit to their parents in holy obedience.  Nothing bad will ever happen to us but that which our loving Father allows.

For Those Who Have Lost Their Way

1st Friday Conference September 2024
St. Tarcisius lived during the days of great persecution.  He was ordained an acolyte or deacon as a young man, and was commissioned to care for the Christian prisoners.  While bringing Viaticum to these captives, St. Tarcisius was accosted by a group of pagans.  He gave his life rather than expose the Holy Eucharist to desecration.

Devotion to the Holy Infant of Prague is loved and honored by Our Lord Himself.  Our Lord is not a child now, but this is the humble state in which He first appeared in the world.  The statue depicts the Holy Infant as both God and Man, as well as King of all creation.  His welcoming gentleness seems to radiate out from the Infant Jesus of Prague.  He makes Himself a guide to all those who have lost their way.

Much is said about the accomplishments of St. Pius X, but not enough about his interior life.  His prayer had reached the heights of contemplation and was directed by the Holy Ghost.  He radiated goodness and wanted to comfort everybody, yet fought unwaveringly against the enemies of his spiritual children.

The Family, The Foundation of the World

Feast of the Holy Family 2024
St. Joseph is the head of our family.  He was formed in the image of God the Father because he was given a share of the same love that God possesses for His Son.  St. Joseph loves us as he loved Christ, because we are part of the Mystical Body.  The Blessed Virgin is the true Mother of God because she gave Him His human life.  Our Lord knew all things in His Divine Mind, but He chose to learn as we do in His human mind, so He could be the perfect model of humility.  He wanted to be like us, so we would want to be like Him.  Today we are taught about the virtue of obedience, without which we cannot be saved.

Now God Has A Name

Christmas Octave 2024
The saints of the Christmas season are St. Stephen, the model of resistance against unbelief, St. John, the Apostle against division within the Church, and the Holy Innocents, who are the models standing against corrupt governments.  Today is the feast of the Circumcision, which offers proof of the true humanity of Christ, because on this day He shed the first drops of His Precious Blood.  In participating in this ceremony of the Old Law, Christ was associated with us sinners, and will be for all eternity.  Today God was given a name that all could utter.  When we call upon the name of Jesus, we ask God to save our soul.  Today is also the Solemnity of Mary which proclaims the Virgin Birth.

A Silent And Holy Night

Christmas Midnight Mass 2023
It is a true joy to relive the happiness of that night in Bethlehem in which our Savior was born.  It was in silence and solitude Our Lord entered the world.  Just as Christ passed through the rock of His tomb at the moment of His Resurrection, He passed through the womb of the Blessed Mother, without violating her virginity.  This chapel is our Bethlehem, in which we relive the moments of the Nativity.  We are united with all of our forefathers throughout the history of the Church.  Our Lord came not only for the glory of His Father, but for us and our salvation.  Christmas is the beginning of Christ’s victory over the world.
