The Father of Vocations

Feast of Saint Joseph 2015
When a person is given a vocation, he is always given the divine help necessary to reach his final goal of Heaven.  Even the people who miss their divine calling are given sufficient grace to save their souls.  Many people, especially in our days, lack confidence in God and are too afraid to fulfill their great calling in life.  St. Joseph was called to be the spouse of the Mother of God and the earthly representative of God the Father.  This was a vocation which was truly beyond human ability to fulfill.  The only doubts St. Joseph entertained were doubts about his own judgment.  He recognized his poverty in every way, but was filled with confidence in God.  Like the priest, St. Joseph had custody over the Body of the Son of God and was willing to lay down his life to protect Him.  The patron of all our needs is St. Joseph.

His Hidden Life

Feast of the Holy Family 2015
Children belong to God, and it is the responsibility of the parents to instill the principles and values necessary to live in the world.  Children must remember that their parents are people, not simply objects fulfilling a role in their lives.  In all the years of Christ’s private life no one knew He was the Son of God.  This speaks volumes about His humility. “I must be about my Father’s affairs,” means that fidelity to God comes before natural attachments, and even obedience to parents.  Christ’s hidden life was spent in love and obedience, and by this Christ demonstrated that the life of prayer and meditation is far superior to the active life.

He Rules Our Souls

Sunday within the Octave of Christmas 2014
Because the feast of the Nativity is so important, the Church celebrates throughout its octave, each day of which emphasizes different aspects of the Nativity.  We are given a great example of the staunch defense of the Faith on the feast of St. Stephen.  We are shown Our Lord as an infant, how He is seemingly helpless and most deserving of our love.  It is a privilege and honor to assist at the true Mass.  When we receive the Sanctifying Grace the Trinity is active in our souls.  The Holy Spirit establishes His home within us, and we are called to be His faithful children.

The Everlasting Effect of Christmas

Sermon on The Feast of
Christmas 2014
On this day the Son of God, after taking to Himself a human nature, entered the world.  The Virginal Birth is the cornerstone of this feast.  The Blessed Mother was virgin before, during, and after the birth of Christ, and remained so perpetually.  We are Christians not because we admire Jesus Christ, but because we recognize Him as our God.  God entered the world and changed the destiny of the whole human race.  Despite all the world seems to offer, it ultimately only gives sadness and fear.  However, Christmas is the one day that brings a lasting joy to man, because it offers us true hope.  We pray that the joy of the manger remains forever in our hearts.

Prayer of the Magi

Conference On
1st Friday February 2014
We continue to learn about the mystery of God’s providence during this period of the liturgical year.  Just as the life of the Magi destined them to follow the Star of Bethlehem, God humbles Himself in revealing his plans to us according to our own lives.  We partake in the prayer of the Magi in our mental, vocal, and liturgical prayers, and only through these prayers may we one day prostrate ourselves at the feet of our Savior.

The Obedience of Christ

Feast of the Holy Family 2014
We read the account of St. Luke, the details of which were given to him by the Blessed Mother herself.  Despite what the enemies of Church say, Christ was perfect man and perfect God, possessed of the Beatific Vision and infused knowledge.  The historical details help us understand the mystery of those three days when Christ was lost in the temple.  We should follow the many souls who imitated Christ’s life, the bulk of which was spent in obedience and obscurity.  No matter what our calling, we can live an interior life which is the superior path.

Our Promise Of Consolation

Sermon From Midnight Mass
Christmas 2013
The three Masses of Christmas each recall a different aspect of Our Lord’s birth – the Midnight Mass recalled the eternal begetting of the Son from the Father, the Mass at dawn His birth in the world, and the third Mass recalls His birth in our individual souls.  In His incarnate Divine Son, God now has human feelings, and when we look into the face of the Christ Child we look into the face of God.  Christmas is not the end but the beginning.  It is the first step of our Redeemer’s mission, and it points towards that day when the angels will announce the definitive victory of Christ over evil.

The World Will Never Be The Same

Christmas 2012 – Midnight Mass
Despite the propaganda of the enemies of Christ, the whole world stops at the event celebrated today.  Today God the Son, Who had taken a human body, was born to us.  Here we not only remember the Nativity, but we relive the very moment once again.  God renews every aspect of His birth through the Masses of this day.  The birth of the Son from the Father from all eternity, the birth of Our Lord in time, and His birth in each one of our souls are all celebrated through the liturgy.  The birth of Christ from the Virgin Mary was sacred, miraculous and painless.  What was begun on this day will be consummated at the end of time with the second coming of Christ in glory.  Christmas is the beginning of our hope and the promise of our vindication.

Regina Nostra

Conference On First Friday, June 2012
The Blessed Virgin Mary is a true queen, with authority and jurisdiction granted to her by her Divine Son.  She was given this title from the days of the catacombs.  Our Lord is a true King in the proper sense, both as God and man, due to His Grace of Union; and here we find the root of Our Lady’s queenship.  Because of her unique relationship with almighty God, she is what one might call the “Queen Mother.”  The human nature of God the Son was produced from her and, because of this, Our Lord would not be King in His human nature if it were not for her.  She is, therefore, not only queen of Heaven and Earth, but also queen of Purgatory.  She is queen of angels and saints, and queen of religious orders.

Catholics should understand the true nature of the gift of tongues which was granted to the Apostles on Pentecost.  The miracle was found in the fact that all the foreigners heard the Apostles speaking in their own languages.  It should not be identified with the false “gift of tongues” found in heretical religious sects.  This miraculous gift was granted to the early Church to strengthen and unify it in its infancy and to aid in the spread of the true Church.

The Care of the Holy Family

Feast of the Holy Family 2012
During this season the same gift given to the Gentile nations through the Magi is once again given to us.  The divinity of Jesus Christ is demonstrated to each of us.  The events and mysteries of Our Lord’s early life are made present once again, as if we were there to witness them firsthand.

When the Gospel says that Jesus “increased in wisdom, age, and grace,” it refers to Our Lord in His human nature.  The human mind of Christ not only possessed the beatific vision but also all the secrets of nature.  Along with this, in His human mind He also had acquired, experiential knowledge and was capable of increasing in this knowledge.

St. Joseph trustingly followed God’s guidance throughout his life.  And just as he provided for all the needs of the Holy Family, St. Joseph has provided for the needs of our community which has put its special trust in him.
