We Offer Infinite Glory

2nd Sunday after Pentecost 2023
Today’s Gospel warns us against neglecting God.  If we put off His invitation to salvation through sin and vice, we will surely lose His invitation.  God instituted the feast of Corpus Christi right before this Sunday to remind us of the importance of the Blessed Sacrament.  This day is a second Corpus Christi in which we may offer ourselves in union with Christ.  Through the Holy Sacrifice we give God infinite glory. Without the spirit of poverty, chastity and obedience, we will not be saved.

The Reason For All Reality

Trinity Sunday 2023
God is infinite, eternal and uncreated and He depends on no creature for His existence.  God willed to reveal something of His infinite love and He did so through His creation.  God has condescended to tell us about Himself in the revealed truth of the Holy Trinity.  It is such a profound mystery that we cannot explain it because this mystery is infinite and we are finite.  Whenever we need help from God in any of our trials or necessities, we may make The Sign of The Cross and invoke the aid of the Blessed Trinity.

Taste And See His Sweetness

8th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
”Taste and see how sweet the Lord is”  These words are from the earliest Communion psalm, which was a favorite among the early Christians.  We celebrate the feast of the Holy Maccabees, the only Old Testaments saints celebrated in the liturgy, and their story reminds us of our need for fortitude during suffering, to stand against persecution, and to be true to our principals.  Our Rosary and spiritual reading are more powerful against the world than carrying signs of protest.

We Possess All We Need

7th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
We are not only able to determine the virtue or malice of our neighbor by the fruits he produces, but if we are honest with ourselves, we can see whether our own fruits are good or evil.  We can find the first fruits of our lives in our prayers, the second in our confessions, and the third we find in our willingness to follow the Will of God.  To follow God’s Will is obedience and obedience is necessary for salvation.  All we must do is desire to follow the Divine Will and pray for the grace to do so.  We possess all we need to reach heaven.

Fall Forward

6th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
This Sunday brings our minds back to the two great sacraments of Holy Week: Baptism and the Holy Eucharist.  Through the former we are given life in the Mystical Body and by the latter that life is nourished and grows.  Those who fall short in attempting to “walk in newness of life” have the example of the reparation of King David along with the conversions of so many saints.  Just like those saints, we must use our falls to our advantage, being urged on with greater zeal to fight harder than ever.  In doing so, our frailty becomes our strength, and our falls only propel us forward to our goal.

United Against Our Enemy

5th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
We are sensitive to offenses against us, but what are we like to our neighbor?  Our love for God can be measured by our fraternity.  Catholics must be more united than ever before.  We must stand unified against the onslaught of vices and perversions of all kinds that the world sends to us.  This is especially necessary in the education of our youth.  Do not think for a moment that the fight is over and we are victorious, because our true battle is not merely against flesh and blood.

Hold True To Principle And To Christ!

4th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
Our Lord chose to preach from the boat of St. Peter in the Gospel because this boat represented the Church from which alone God’s word is taught.  We are in need of God’s help and must never despise it no matter how unworthy and sinful we are.  When we die, we will be judged on how much we love Our Lord and how much we tried to save our neighbor.  We must be detached from the people and the objects of the world, because what matters is our soul, what matters is God.  Hold true to principle!  Hold true to Christ!

Fundamentals For Fatherhood

2nd Sunday after Pentecost 2022
With the vocation of fatherhood being so attacked in the world today, it is more important than ever for Catholic fathers to hold fast to the holy principals of their vocation.  True manhood, with its accompanying virtues of perseverance, responsibility, and love of neighbor, is the essential foundation for this vocation.  The father as the head of the family is responsible before all others for, not only the intellectual, but also the spiritual education of his children.  In following the example of the great saintly fathers of Catholic history, men will be able to meet the expectation of this most necessary calling.

A Crown For The Trinity

Trinity Sunday 2022
Although the feast of the Holy Trinity did not exist in the earliest days of the Church, today it is presented as a crown of glory to the Divine Majesty. Belief in the three Persons of the Blessed Trinity, all equal in nature and perfections, is not only necessary for our own salvation, but it is a dogma that we are called to share with the unbelieving world. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,” is a command to all of us.

Take Heed Lest You Fall

9th Sunday After Pentecost 2021
This week we celebrate the feasts of Saints James the Greater, Martha, Ignatius of Loyola and the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Anne.  This Sunday is providentially placed in the summer to help us combat temptation and sin.  The Epistle warns us how easily we can fall from grace as can be seen by what happened to the Chosen People in the desert.  History provides many more examples such as King Henry VIII.  God permits evil as a punishment for sin and to teach us to turn to Him when in need.  Even those far from grace can do this and in a moment of desperation say “God, help me”.  Pray fervently that you may go to heaven and you will.
