Plunge Into The Sacred Heart

Feast Of The Sacred Heart 2017

Our Lord requested through St. Margaret Mary that this feast of the Sacred Heart be celebrated after the octave of Corpus Christi to make amends for irreverences to the Blessed Sacrament.  Christ further explained how He was offering His Heart as the proof of His great love to the world which was becoming cold, indifferent, uncaring, unfeeling and contemptuous toward God and His gifts.  We can repair for our failings with true devotion.

Supernatural Love

Feast Of The Sacred Heart 2016

Father Superior begins this sermon by differentiating between human love and Divine, Sacrificial Love.  Human love can, indeed, be sacrificial, such as the example Father gives of a man who lovingly cared for his wife who was in an iron-lung for 37 years.  But Divine Love, as channeled to us through Our Lord’s Sacred Heart, asks nothing except Love in return.  Indeed, we are told to ask for nothing in devotions to the Sacred Heart but to merely give Him our heart.  Unfortunately this Feast is too often ignored in these times.  But there is much reason for great hope for Our Lord told Sr.Margaret Mary Alacoque, “Fear nothing, I will reign in spite of My enemies and of those who endeavor to oppose Me.  This Sacred Heart will reign in spite of Satan and of all those whom he raises up to oppose it.”

God Will Win

Sermon From
The 5th Sunday After Pentecost 2015
Fraternal charity is a theme of this Mass. Tomorrow is the feast of St. Peter and he is a great person who was trained well by Our Lord. A test of courage is the ability to endure challenges patiently. We should imitate the saints in seeking peace and pursuing it. Our love of God is seen in how much we love neighbor too. Our society is deteriorating and is seen in its acceptance of the four sins that cry out to God for vengeance. A heavy chastisement is awaiting us. The Sacred Heart lamented that even consecrated souls are guilty. By our baptisms all of us have been dedicated to the Blessed Trinity and should fulfill our vows of fidelity. God will triumph in the end with a victory as seen by Gideon.

Love Him In Return

Feast of the Sacred Heart 2015
“To have Christ dwelling through faith in your heart” refers to the abiding presence of the Divine Person of Christ in our souls while in the state of grace.  When St. Paul speaks of knowing God’s love, he does not simply refer to an intellectual knowledge, but rather a direct, immediate experience of the love of God, just as the great saints experienced.  This feast of the Sacred Heart was requested directly by Our Lord, and no man is free to ignore this devotion.  The original sketch of the Sacred Heart shows a great wound inside of which is written the word “caritas” – “love”.  This devotion was reserved for a time when the world had grown cold in its love that it might gain favor through the revelation of Our Lord’s Sacred Heart.

A Place For Sinners

Sermon From The
3rd Sunday after Pentecost 2013
The Church reminds us in the Introit of this Mass, just as she did at the beginning of the liturgical year, to lift up our souls to God.  We have been given the Holy Ghost in this season to carry us to our goal.  The first half of the liturgical year culminates in the feast of the Holy Trinity.  We have a long journey ahead to become saints.  God gave many promises to the souls who love the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  We are called to practice devotion to the Christ’s Heart during this month.

He Craves Our Love

Sermon From
The Feast Of The Sacred Heart 2013
It is sad how feasts like this one have been neglected by priests in the past to the detriment of the devotion of the faithful.  Our Lord came to St. Margaret Mary, showed her His Heart and with other things said that even consecrated souls mistreated Him.  Pope Pius XII taught that no Catholic is free from practicing this devotion because it is so essential to the Christian life of sacrifice and of returning love by reparation to God.  The Heart of Our Savior beats ceaselessly with deep affection for each of us and for mankind as a whole.  We must reciprocate by imitating Christ’s life in our own as the saints have especially those with the stigmata.
