Pray For Their Rest

All Souls Day 2023
The Mass of the dead is really the Mass of life.  Virtually nobody prays for the dead, which is a great injustice.  Although Purgatory is not formally denied, it is simply never mentioned.  We must pray for the priests and religious who held fast to the true traditions of our Faith, and all the faithful who were buried from our Chapel.  When we die, we are incapable of making any more choices, and are unable to merit or demerit.  Nothing sullied can be in the presence of God, and the justice of God demands that we make up for our sins.  Few people in this life make satisfaction for their temporal punishment so God in his mercy offers them Purgatory.  It is a place of great joy and great longing.  God has ennobled our prayers so that what we pray can affect our neighbor.  God will grant mercy to the Holy Souls on the condition that we ask.

Instruction To The Youth

Q&A Conference September 2023
Children can sometimes be crueler than adults and hurt feelings can last a lifetime.  If we are hardhearted in the way we treat others, God will punish us.  We must beware of gossip.  Young men should be particularly careful with the feelings of young girls.  And young girls should look in the mirror honestly and clothe themselves in a manner that is flattering rather than revealing.  It is the personality that makes friends. We change a great deal externally as we grow older, but a good heart remains.

Blessed Are Those Who Mourn

Feast of the Seven Sorrows 2023
All of Our Lord’s acts had infinite value because He is God.  The Blessed Virgin Mary is called the Associate of Redemption by her union of friendship, love, and emotion.  She has an intimate union with God.  We all weep, because we are injured, or mistreated, or ignored, or misunderstood, etc.  Sometimes we weep for love.  Love can be the greatest source of pain.  We see how much the saints suffered for love.  One of the reasons why Our Lady wept on Calvary is because of the loss of so many souls whom she loved so deeply.

Do Not Weep

15th Sunday after Pentecost 2023
No other religion has produced saints as the Catholic Church has.  The greatest mark of the Church is her holiness.  Discretion is one of the best ways to practice charity.  It allows us to know when to offer correction and when to simply let our example teach our neighbor.  Charity is the hallmark of a Catholic.  As much as we unwittingly crucify each other we are still bonded together by charity, and nothing stands in the way of charity for a true Catholic.  Our Lord feels the burdens of His people.

Don’t Conform To The World

12th Sunday after Pentecost 2023
In the Gospel for today, we see Christ represented as the Good Samaritan – the one Who was rejected by the world.  He is the one Who saves the sinner who has been wounded by the devil.  We are that sinner and we must cry out for salvation.  We are bombarded by propaganda, and for the most part we are unaware.  The world does not want us to be like the Good Samaritan who stands out from the crowd.  The world wants us to conform.  We follow Christ in our love for God and neighbor.

We Must Obey To Be Saved

20th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
The official in the Gospel for this Mass traveled a long distance to find Christ, but was rebuked for his lack of faith.  Yet, Christ rewarded the little faith he had, curing his child, and converting his whole household into some of the very first Christians.  St. Paul tells us that God’s Will is that we pray continuously and redeem the time we have wasted.  We must not be foolish with this precious gift of time.  What would the people in hell give for a little more time?  If we do not practice obedience and give up our will, we can be sure we lack the other virtues.  We must act for God and our neighbor, not for our own desires.

No Salvation Without Belief

13th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
In the collect of this Mass we beg for an increase of the three theological virtues.  If we do not believe, we cannot be saved.  This is why we must be continually taught the catechism.  We see that the lepers of the Gospel were cured because of their faith and trusting hope in divine providence.  If we are not thankful for the many gifts we have been given, God may withdraw His grace in the future.  Those graces that are rejected by us will be offered to another, so the gifts of God must never be taken lightly.

United Against Our Enemy

5th Sunday After Pentecost 2022
We are sensitive to offenses against us, but what are we like to our neighbor?  Our love for God can be measured by our fraternity.  Catholics must be more united than ever before.  We must stand unified against the onslaught of vices and perversions of all kinds that the world sends to us.  This is especially necessary in the education of our youth.  Do not think for a moment that the fight is over and we are victorious, because our true battle is not merely against flesh and blood.

All Souls Day Conference

All Souls Day 2021
Having a day to pray for the souls of the faithful departed began in the monasteries where the deceased monks were remembered in Masses, the Divine Office and by reciting 150 Our Fathers.  Souls in Purgatory are often permitted to visit family, friends and the altars where they assisted at Mass.  At death a person’s soul leaves his body and is judged instantly.  His decision at that time can never change because without his body to provide new information the soul’s choice at the moment of death is irrevocable.  Those in grace but not yet perfect are purified in Purgatory where the fires purify their souls by humbling their pride.  There is peace and joy there also because the Holy Souls know that they are saved and will see God.  We should pray, fast and give alms to assist them.

Signs Of Demonic Temptation

21st Sunday After Pentecost 2021
Tomorrow is the feast of St. Luke the Evangelist and today is the feast of St. Margaret Mary the Apostle of the Sacred Heart.  The Epistle for this Mass was written by St. Paul during his imprisonment and the armor of his jailers was a reminder to him of the defensive and offensive weapons that we have in our spiritual combat, not with natural forces but, with preternatural forces on high.  Lucifer is the leader of these proud fallen demons who are the cause of most of our temptations.  Sudden, disturbing, prideful, lying and divisive characteristics mark these attacks from the devil.  The Gospel warns us to be merciful because we have received mercy.  The Divine Maternity has an important attribute that honors Our Lady’s virginity before, during and after Christ’s birth.  The Holy Rosary is our great means of sanctification.
