Our First Look at the Face of God

Christmas Midnight Mass 2025
Surrounded by so many doubts and challenges, even those who believe in the great mystery of the Incarnation may be tempted to question if this is possible.  But it is the truth.  The Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, in a moment in time, took to Himself a human nature like ours.  For the first time God had a heart and was capable of loving us with love both human and divine.  He could now experience the emotions of sorrow and joy in a depth unimaginable.  When we come to church, we must always remember that we are here first to give, not to receive.  The profit we receive is only secondary and in proportion to our generosity.  Our Lord remains in the tabernacle as our Companion and to rescue us from the devil and his human agents on Earth.  Christmas is a foretaste of the final victory we will all enjoy at the end of time.

Her Unique Redemption

Sermon From The Feast Of The
Immaculate Conception 2025

We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have shown their loyalty, support, and love in the face of the attacks of the enemies of the Faith.

Pope Pius IX had said that declaring the dogma of the Immaculate Conception was one of the greatest moments of his life.  It was as if Our Lord Himself were speaking when this dogma was defined.  The Blessed Mother was redeemed in a more perfect way than the rest of mankind.  She was not liberated from sin but preserved from it.  Sanctifying grace is the greatest gift we have been given in this life, and the Virgin Mary possessed this gift from the first instant of her existence.  Though she was not under the curse of Adam and the punishment of death, she died in imitation of and in union with her Divine Son. The love of the Blessed Mother for her Son was sensitive and intense and we, who were given to her on Calvary, share in that love.

Am I Of The Truth?

Feast of Christ the King 2025
The words of today’s Epistle are solemn and frightening. Our Lord expects to be believed, followed, and obeyed and those who refuse to do so, whether they be in the Church or civil society, will be punished severely. Life is not about pleasures and possessions; it is about Heaven and its obtainment.

In our shrine, we have a relic of the True Cross and of the nail which pierced Our Lord’s flesh. It is especially fitting on this day to venerate these sacred items.

It was 100 years ago when this feast was established to combat secularism and to spread Christ’s dominion throughout the world. Our Lord told us that all power in Heaven and on Earth has been given to Him, and that we are commanded to preach His Gospel to every creature. We must not be like those cowardly Catholics who cooperate with the enemies of Christ, but we must fight against and condemn all those who oppose the reign of our King.

Mother of the Forsaken

Seven Sorrows Of The Blessed Virgin Mary 2025
We should be familiar with all seven of the great sorrows of the Virgin Mary’s life.  In the devotion to the Sorrowful Mother, we see Our Lady in all her bravery and strength, yet still possessing the tender love of a mother.  She is Mother of Priests because, although she was not a priest herself, she teaches and guides all priests.  Our Lady is repelled by the empty sentimentality of those who favor the appearances of holiness over true sanctity.  From her Immaculate Conception, the Blessed Mother was filled with all grace and virtue.  She was so united with Christ in His sufferings that it was only by a miracle that her life was sustained through her Divine Son’s Passion.  She was capable of feeling pain far more profoundly because she loved more deeply than anyone else is capable.  Every time we pray the Hail Mary, we are asking the Blessed Mother to apply the merits of Our Lord’s Passion to us, so we may have final perseverance at the end of our lives.

Hail Mary, Full of Love

Feast of the Assumption 2025
In the Epistle for today’s feast, the applied sense of Scripture is used to connect Judith’s conquest over the prince of the Hebrew’s enemies in the Old Testament to the Blessed Virgin Mary’s victory over the Prince of Darkness.  The passive word Assumption is used to express the direct action of the Trinity on Our Lady in bringing her, body and soul, into Heaven.  One can only imagine the great joy in Heaven at the entrance of its Queen.  In the Hail Mary we are meant to greet the Holy Virgin with fervor and love.  Divine Charity, which we possess in Sanctifying Grace, far surpasses the greatest and most noble of human love.  The intensity of this Divine Love in the Blessed Mother is unimaginable, and it transformed even her smallest works into actions warranting the greatest merit.  What our Savior desires most from us is that we love Him in return.

No Longer Servants But Friends

Feast of Saints Peter & Paul 2025

Priestly Ordinations

During the ordination ceremony, it is as if Heaven is opening as our Divine Savior unites with the ordinands and fuses them to His priestly Nature.  From that moment, the new priests are able to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, to renew all the divine mysteries of the Faith through the liturgy, to forgive sin, to govern, to teach, to baptize, to bring souls to Heaven.  The priest is called Father because he provides life to the people and spiritually nourishes them.  The Laity should look at the priest and see the likeness of Christ.  By the physical transformation of the soul through Holy Orders, for all eternity, the priest is now a relative – a brother – of Our Lord.

The Birthday of the Church

Pentecost Sunday 2025
The Holy Ghost is often referred to as the “forgotten Person of the Trinity.”  However, without Him we would have no Church.  When Our Lord died on the Cross all the merits He won remained within Him, and it was only when He opened the gates of Heaven that all those merits could be shared with us.  All that He won is dispensed to us during the visible reign of the Holy Spirit.  Today the Church made its first physical appearance in the world.  The Apostles gathered with the Virgin Mary in the Upper Room, where the first Mass had been offered, and prayed for nine days in preparation for the coming of the Holy Ghost.  A miraculous wind drew crowds of thousands to the very first church.  The appearance of the tongues of fire expressed the consuming fire of God’s love.  The ultimate gift of the Holy Ghost is for each of us to be filled with the very love God has for Himself.

I Have Overcome the World

Easter Sunday Morning 2025
Despite what the nonbelievers may say, Our Lord truly and bodily rose from the dead.  Our faith is vain without the Resurrection, because this miracle is the greatest proof that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  Although no one can see the Divinity of Christ, this act shows that He has power over life and death.  Even in the face of these great wonders, just like the Apostles before us, we must still believe.  This great day is dependent on the victory of the Cross.  We are united to our Divine Redeemer in Baptism, and we will be united with Him in our own resurrection.  In this world we have affliction, but we take courage because He has overcome the world.

Her First Great Sorrow

Feast of the Purification 2025
This feast marks the end of the Nativity and Epiphany seasons. Today we remember both the purification of the Blessed Virgin and the presentation of Our Lord in the temple. The Mother of God was exempt from the legal requirement of purification, however she still submitted to the law due to her humility and desire to be united to sinners. In the Old Law, parents were required to present their first-born son in the temple and to offer five shekels in order to “buy back” the child who was being loaned to them for a time by God. This should remind all parents that your children are not yours but belong to God first. St. Simeon prophesied that Our Lady’s life would be filled with sorrow. This is how she merited the title of Queen of Martyrs and Mater Dolorosa.

Blessed candles, one of the great sacramentals of the Church, are blessed today in the ceremony which has existed from the earliest days of the Church.
