Monograph in Defense of Our Catholic Faith
and on the Consecration of
the Most Reverend Anthony D. Ward
to all Catholic Bishops, Priests, Religious and Faithful
November 18, 2025 · Feast of the Dedication of the Basilicas of Saints Peter and Paul
Opening Statement
a. On November 10, 2025, we received a letter from Bishop James R. Golka of the Diocese of Colorado Springs, Colorado. In this letter he states that the Most Rev. Anthony D. Ward is excommunicated and that the Dicastery of the Doctrine of the Faith (headed by the Prefect, VÃctor Manuel Cardinal Fernández), directed him (Bishop Golka) to initiate the process of dismissal of His Excellency, the Most Rev. Anthony D. Ward from the clerical state because of his persistent state of contumacy (which means stubbornly to refuse to be obedient). As a matter of principle, a Catholic must not obey any authority who commands evil; this is clearly seen in the numberless errors, abuses, heresies, crimes committed by corrupt clergy.
b. First of all, we state in the strongest and most unequivocal terms, that these processes, decisions and documents are absolutely null and void. They are to be and will be ignored and condemned by Bishop Ward and by all the undersigned Priests of Servants of the Holy Family. Every true, sincere and faithful Catholic in the world will do the same.
c. No authority, regardless of its rank or privilege, can rightly issue punishments to an individual who is innocent of the accusations unjustly leveled against him. Their attempted decrees are unjust, unlawful and invalid. Any excommunication regarding Bishop Ward, whether in the past or present, is phony and without any real effect. The statements of these malicious clergy are contemptible and without any force of law. They come from men without honor who should have the greatest shame.
d. The purpose of this episcopal consecration is summed up in the moving and sublime words of His Grace, Archbishop Telesphore George Mpundu, retired Metropolitan of Lusaka, Zambia when he told us of his decision to consecrate then-Father Ward a bishop. Archbishop Mpundu said that the European and American missionaries brought the Catholic Faith to his people in Africa starting about 150 years ago. He then went on to say that in his visit to us in 2020 he saw how we were holding on to that same Faith. It is only right, he concluded, that we now in these perilous times should come to America and strengthen you and the faithful by giving you a bishop to provide the life-giving Sacraments in the future.
