He Has Waited an Eternity

4th Sunday after Easter 2026

First Communion SundayThis month begins with the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, who was chosen to lift our times out of the communistic view of labor and to give all workers a Catholic model to follow.  The Catholic view is contrary to that of communism as well as unbridled capitalism.  We must hold to Catholic principles and refuse to be swayed by the propaganda of these secular movements.  Man’s value is not simply calculated by the amount of money he earns or the work of which he is capable, but because of the dignity of his God-given nature.

Our Lord promised that He would not leave us orphans but would come to us in the Holy Eucharist.  The first communicants have worked hard in preparation for this moment.  They have received the sacrament of Penance to unburden themselves of all sin so they might soar to Heaven in the reception of Holy Communion.  Now Our Lord will enter their souls, not merely through grace, but in His Real Presence.
