What Our Rosary is Lacking

Most Catholics find the Rosary difficult and confusing because they have never been taught to pray it well. The gift of this great prayer from the Blessed Virgin Mary allows us, as it were, to carry the liturgy of the Church in our pocket. Combined in the Rosary is both vocal and mental prayer, with the Hail Mary’s serving as the background for the meditation on each mystery. Placing oneself in the presence of Our Lord and being immersed in the mystery is all that is necessary. The thought of our Redeemer in these moments of his life inspires us to make acts of love, of surrender, and of trust. As Christ draws out pious sentiments from our soul, we take our first steps towards our union with Him. The conversation with God in the Holy Rosary lays the foundation for infused supernatural prayer.
