Sermon

Weep with Your Mother

One could say that this feast is the most moving of all the feasts of the year. Today our hearts are pierced with sorrow as Our Blessed Mother’s was upon hearing the prophecy of Simeon. When St. John was given to Our Lady at the foot of the Cross, we were all given to her, and she remains the loving Mother of all her children, even those who remain ungrateful or indifferent. We should be familiar with the details of each of the Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Mother’s life and should overflow with gratitude for the sacrifices she has made. Despite the criticisms of the world, we come to God in our prayer through Our Lady, as He came to mankind through her. Do not take for granted the powerful sacramentals of the Virgin Mary. May we foster a heart in imitation of the Hearts of Our Lord, His Mother, and St. Joseph. For those dedicated to the Seven Sorrows, she promises true repentance in our last moments. She will impress the memory of the Passion on our hearts, and we will be placed in the hands of Mary to receive all the graces she desires. By the grace of God, through His Mother, we can possess a selfless and unfailing love.
