One Faith, One Baptism, One Lord

A Catholic priest has the obligation to not only preach the truth but also condemn error. In these days of crisis within the Church, one can easily contrast the ambiguous, misleading, or even heretical statements of so-called shepherds with true Catholic teaching and the words of Holy Scripture. If to reject erroneous teachings and hold uncompromisingly to the teachings of Christ warrants condemnation, that condemnation is in fact a crown of glory.

In the face of the scandals in the Church, our need for saints is greater than ever. The love of God preached by Our Lord in the Gospel for today’s Mass is our only path to sanctification. When we love God with our whole mind, our whole soul, and our whole strength, we would do anything to avoid displeasing Him. Love makes the labors of life easy to bear, and when even our smallest duties are done with great love, they inevitably lead to our sanctification. Love of God is the perfection of the universe.
