Be Soldiers of Light

The parable of this Gospel urges us to use the material things of this world to obtain something truly worthwhile. The unjust steward used his resources to gain a livelihood, but we use all the money and good we have been given to obtain a far greater reward in Heaven. St. Paul tells us in this Epistle that we are the children of light and that God is not only our Creator but our Father.

Confirmation strengthens us in the face of persecution. We need soldiers against the enemies in the world and against those within the Church. The Blessed Mother showed the torments of Hell at Fatima and warned that most people go to Hell because of sins of the flesh. Our will must be strengthened, we must avoid idleness, and be devoted to Our Lady, if we wish to be victorious soldiers of Christ. Follow the example of the heroic martyrs of Compiègne, who sacrificed all for their heavenly crown.
