Acts of Love

The miracles of Our Lord were sometimes meant to teach, sometimes to bring about a conversion of soul, but most importantly, every miracle He performed was an act of love. How easy it should be for us to express our love for Christ when we appreciate that He loves us first. He takes a personal interest in each one of us. Christ not only proved His love by His Incarnation and His death on the Cross, but He confirmed it with all the works of His life. Our Lord has commanded us to love one another as He loves us, and to dispel all fear, because those who love Him will “indeed rejoice.” There are innumerable examples of Christ’s desire to show kindness and solicitude to all our needs, be they great or small. His favors extended even to His enemies and those living evil lives, just as the favors offered to us call us to conversion of life. God shows His love for us through his saints in numerous examples, like those of St. Martin de Porres, St. Teresa Margaret, Fr. Solanus Casey, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Francis of Paola.
