The Reward For Sanctity

All Saints Day Evening 2018
The feast of All Saints dates back to the fourth century when the Church wanted to honor all the saints so none were missed throughout the liturgical year.  We thank them for their holy lives and God who gave them sanctity.  This day encourages us to fight for heaven as well and to ask their intercession to be successful.  We make reparation for our neglect of the saints, each of whom reflects some perfection of Our Savior.  We are meant to imitate their virtues, not necessarily the details of their lives.  We remember that the reward for sanctity is the direct grasp of the divine essence.
