Feast of Corpus Christi 2026
Today we celebrate the greatest gift given to mankind.  One Mass gives more glory to God than all the sacrifices of the Old Testament, than all the sufferings of the martyrs, even more than the love of the Blessed Mother, because it is the Redemption relived.  We see the truth in St. Paul’s dire warning exemplified in the story of King Lothaire II’s sacrilegious Communion and subsequent punishment by God.  We are offered a gift of inestimable value so often that we are in grave danger of falling into lukewarmness.  Imagine if Christ had chosen to permit but one single Mass to be offered, on one blessed day before His Second Coming.  How fervent, humble, and full of love those souls would be who were privileged to attend that one Mass.  But the gift we are given in Holy Communion is in no way diminished because Our Lord offers it so frequently.  Let us treat this Mass as if it were the only one offered for all time.
