The time after the Epiphany continues to show us the revelation of God becoming Man. This is proven in the Gospel by a miracle to the Jews in the leper and to the Gentiles in the servant of the centurion. We are also called during this time to join with the angels in adoring the Incarnate God. Prayer is essential for salvation and faith. Such a prayer is the beautiful one that is taken from the Gospel for today. Our Lord proposed coming to cure the servant but was deterred by the words of humility and faith from the soldier which earned him praise from the Savior who said He had not found such great faith in Israel. These words, recited now before Communion at the Mass, should be our prayer during these days: Lord, I am not worthy that Thou should come under my roof; but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed. Amen.
